I want to warmly welcome everyone to come enjoy our Tulip Fields this month as we celebrate all our mommas, grads, loved ones who have passed and springtime in Parkdale, Oregon. There is no admission fee to come visit or take pictures at Mt View Orchards. We also offer u-cut tulips so you can make a bouquet for someone you love or bring some cheer to those around you.

You’re welcome to come visit 10-7pm and please bring your own scissors (We have scissors when our tasting room is open for you to use.) The Tulips are $1/stem but if you buy ten tulips this weekend get 5 free tulips on us. You may venmo me at Katrina-McAlexander or if the Tasting room is open (12-7p on weekends you can pay at the Grateful Garden)

Remember Reservations are required to enjoy our beer, wine or cider and all our food pairings and you can make one online HERE. In our Meadow we do have drinks by the glass and slices on weekends for those who want to come enjoy with no reservation required in the Grateful Garden. We do have openings for walk ins mid-week but weekends often are full for reservations and the Garden is the best place to be refreshed.

I am so grateful for my grandmother Janice and mother Ruthie who both adore flowers and we planted these tulips last November with the hopes they would bloom around Mothers day. What a treat that they are in full bloom on Mothers day weekend. I am so grateful for all the female nurturers in my life when I was young and those who nourish me now at 44. To all the female nurturers a huge thank you for loving our community well.

xo you’re grateful farmer, Trina

Grateful

The grateful farmer is a blog about a woman who left her job in the the city to come home to save the family farm.  My desire is to candidly share my journey learning how to farm a 50 acre Orchard at the base of Mt. Hood. I invite you to follow along as I share seasonal recipes, childhood memories, farming successes and failures. Please enjoy the Orchard photos collaging the beautiful seasons and harvests here at Mt. View Orchards. I am grateful and humbled that are you are reading along and want you to know that my farm is your farm.

Honeycrisp apples are a favorite @mtvieworchards and today we are going to be sharing some forward with our local food bank. Apples are extremely rich in important antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber. The phytonutrients and antioxidants in apples may help reduce the risk of developing cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. @mtvieworchards we believe everyone deserves to enjoy the best of our 2018 local apple harvests. We have them in our farm stand as well if you want to pick some up for your lunches. #mtvieworchards #afarmthatcares #afarmthatgathers #afarmthatgivesback #apples #honeycrisps
